Care For Elders
Care For Elders
Much elderly grapple with issues of health, finances, loneliness, hunger, etc. Advanced age is an inevitable part of everybody’s lives, and it should be spent in dignity and warmth instead of in hardships.
We at Avani Foundation have instituted a principled belief system that in the interest of mankind at large, we must care for the elderly who are without family or support. Dedicated teams from our foundation frequently visit old age homes and provide the needy there with medicines, clothes, food, and items of personal hygiene and care.
They also interact with the elders there to build bonding with them and help keep them in a healthy and positive frame of mind; this after all helps improve and preserve their mental health too.
The foundation takes care of all the expenses related to the healthcare of the elderly, including their medical treatment.
To ensure the overall welfare of the elderly across Telangana, we have instituted a strong volunteer network across the state. Through this volunteer network, we interact with the elderly regularly.
Among other things, we also take care of the following needs of the elderly:
- Facilitating the availability of walking equipment
- Providing wheelchairs
- Facilitating access to quality spectacle lenses as part of basic eye/vision care
- Facilitating access to adult diapers
- Providing proper/supportive sanitation equipment, and
- Many more
Our volunteers also make the effort to understand the problems of aging from a social point of view and sensitize individuals from the youth community on the needs and rights of the elderly through awareness campaigns.
Avani is driven by the vision to ensure the independence and dignity of living for the elderly and make them feel empowered even in their advanced years.
